Quran Online India ("we", "our", "us") operates the QOI - My Quran Class mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, username, and password when you register or are enrolled.
- Profile Information: Role (student, parent, teacher, etc.), date of birth, country, state, and timezone.
- Student Enrollment: Parent/guardian information, student's name, age, course preferences, and scheduling details.
- Chat Messages: Text messages, voice recordings, images, and documents shared through the in-app chat feature.
- Attendance & Academic Records: Class attendance, lesson progress, assessment results, and teacher feedback.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, and push notification token (Expo Push Token) for delivering notifications.
- Usage Data: App interactions, login timestamps, and session activity.
- Google Meet Data: When classes are conducted via Google Meet, we access meeting participant information and session timing to verify attendance and calculate class duration.
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Precise geolocation or GPS data
- Payment card details (payments are processed via direct UPI transfer or securely through Razorpay)
- Contacts, call logs, or SMS data
3. Children's Privacy
Our App is designed for use by parents, guardians, and teachers to manage Quran education for students, including children under 13 years of age. Children do not directly create accounts or use the App independently. Parents or guardians enroll their children and manage their accounts.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. All student data is provided and managed by their parent, guardian, or the educational institution. If you believe a child has provided us personal information without parental consent, please contact us immediately.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Provide Educational Services: Scheduling classes, tracking attendance, recording academic progress, and facilitating teacher-student communication.
- Communication: Sending class reminders, attendance notifications, chat messages, and important updates via push notifications and email.
- Administration: Managing user accounts, generating reports (attendance, salary, assessments), and handling support requests.
- Payments: Processing fee payments via direct UPI transfer or through our payment partner Razorpay, and generating invoices.
- Improvement: Analyzing usage patterns to improve App functionality and user experience.
5. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share information in the following cases:
- Within the Organization: Teachers, supervisors, and administrators can view relevant student and class information as required for educational purposes.
- Payment Processing: Payment details are shared with Razorpay for processing transactions. Razorpay's privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.
- Google Services: We integrate with Google Meet for online classes. Google's privacy policy applies to data processed by Google services.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or government request.
6. Data Storage & Security
- Your data is stored on secure servers hosted by Hostinger.
- Passwords are encrypted using bcrypt hashing.
- Authentication uses secure random tokens.
- Biometric data (fingerprint/Face ID) used for login is processed locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers.
- We implement reasonable security measures, but no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Attendance and academic records are retained for institutional record-keeping purposes. You may delete your account directly from the App (Profile → Delete Account) or by contacting us. Upon deletion, your personal information (name, email, phone) is permanently removed, while anonymized academic and financial records are retained for institutional purposes.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Deletion: Delete your account and personal data directly from the App (Profile → Delete Account), or by contacting us.
- Withdraw Consent: You can stop using the App at any time.
- Notification Preferences: You can manage push notification settings through your device settings.

9. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Expo / EAS: For app updates and push notifications

- Camera: To capture and share photos in chat
- Photo Library: To select and share images and documents
- Microphone: To record voice messages in chat
- Biometric (Fingerprint/Face ID): For secure, quick login
- Notifications: To receive class reminders and messages
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
